Sewing pattern

The pattern we use in this online course is the Hanna bikini (you can see the versions people have made with this pattern here). The sizes included in this pattern have a band circumference (the measurement just below the bust) of 60 cm to 110 cm (24”-44”). The cup size ranges from A to F. Once you have paid for the course, you will receive your copy of the pattern in PDF format. If you have already purchased the pattern, access the course here and you will receive a discount.

Supplies

The price of the online course does not include the supplies for sewing the bikini. In the first class, I’ll show you which supplies you need and where to get them. You can also check this blog post for a list of online stores. To sew your bikini, you will need a domestic sewing machine that can sew a normal zigzag stitch. It is not mandatory to use a serger, but you can do so if you wish. The techniques for sewing with both a sewing machine and a serger will be explained.

Skill level

This course is aimed at people who know how to use a sewing machine with ease. You don't need to be at an advanced level, but this is a project for people with at least an intermediate level. You need to have some experience sewing with fine fabrics in order to handle the small pieces that make up the bikini. You don't need to have any experience sewing lingerie or swimwear; in this course, you'll learn everything from scratch!

Course format

The course consists of detailed, educational videos covering everything you need to know to sew your own swimwear from scratch. You can watch the videos at your own pace and as many times as you need, because you will have a lifetime access to the course content.

If you have any questions or concerns, I will always answer them below each class, where you can leave your comments!

Along with the online course, you also have access to the online student community within the same platform, where you can share your sewing projects with other seamstresses.

Course duration

Access to the course content and the student community is permanent, so you can refer to the classes whenever you need.

Why should you enroll in this course?

Because sewing swimwear is really cool, but people often tell me that it's a little scary to do it alone at home for the first time! In this course, you can do it at your own pace with detailed videos, but with the assurance that you have someone on the other side of the screen (me!) who can advise you on any questions you may have.

I have been teaching in-person lingerie and swimwear courses for years and general sewing classes for even longer. You can rest assured that I will pass on the knowledge you need to avoid frustration with your swimwear projects. Because yes, the beginning can be complicated... but it doesn't have to be if you have the necessary tools and knowledge. You'll see that it's not that big of a deal!

If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact me by email: info@studiocostura.com
